At Somnalist, operated by D-SETI Dreamwork, we affirm our good intent: your subconscious data is a sacred trust. We provide an AI-driven environment for dream exploration, and this policy details how we handle that responsibility within reasonable expectations of digital privacy.
By using Somnalist, you provide D-SETI Dreamwork ("we", "us") with "Dream Data," which includes narratives, audio recordings, emotional metadata, and interaction history with our AI Assistant. We collect this under the principle of meaningful consent as per Canada's PIPEDA and the GDPR.
Somnalist utilizes Third-Party Large Language Model (LLM) providers (including but not limited to OpenAI and Google) to generate dream analyses and assistant responses. While we utilize API-level privacy controls, you acknowledge that your dream text is processed by these external systems. These providers are independent controllers and their infrastructure is beyond our direct control.
Users in the EU (GDPR) and California (CCPA) have specific rights: the right to access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"), and the right to data portability. For our Canadian users, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). All requests for data export or deletion can be managed via your Account Settings or by contacting our BC office.
We employ AES-256 encryption for data at rest within our Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Security begins with your own device protocols and the protection of your access credentials.
